Shaped like a house in it there is illumination then called lantern or danglong in Chinese, at the beginning for women in city lighting, building and household. Lanterns are usually made round like a moon and inside there is a burning candle. Because the lanterns are lit up at night, it is a symbol of the joy of life. Lanterns are then used at parties, ceremonies, and festivals. The houses are made of lanterns with the letters Fu (happiness), Shuo (long time). Large lanterns are deliberately made as illumination at night.
