There isn't more Steem. There is the same amount of Steem as before.

Then why do upvotes of lesser power yield more cash now? Or do they not?

Because yesterday morning they changed the way the Steem is allocated in some ways that make small votes more powerful.

If big votes did not become less powerful, and small votes earn more STEEM, then there is more STEEM being created during a same amount of time as before, which means inflation of STEEM grew.

Where did I say big votes did not become less powerful?

Votes used to influence post payouts quadratically, now they influence linearly. Relatively speaking, small votes are now more powerful.

Appreciate your reply. Do you know the answers to my questions in my root post in this link? https://steemit.com/steemit/@stimialiti/questions-about-steemit-monetary-system-part-1
