Location of Mahasthangar
Mahasthangarh is one of the oldest ancient monuments in Bangladesh. Previously it was named Pundravardhana or Pundranagar. Mahasthangarh was once the capital of Bengal. There are many signs of Maurya, Gupta, Pala, and Sena Empire found here. Its position in Shibganj upazila of Bogra district.

Mahasthangarh is situated on the west side of the historic Kalidah Sea and Padmadevi residence. By seeing these you can go to Shilawadi Ghat. Shiladevi was the sister of Parshuram. On the west side of this ghat there is a big coup called Zekutkund. It is said that after drinking the water of this coup, the injured soldiers of Parshuram would be cured.
After seeing these miraculous and mythological monuments, you can go to the Museum of the average. Due to Mahasthan excavation, many deities of Maurya, Gupta, Pala and Sena periods have been found in the museum, which still have been preserved in the museum.

It is said that a Muslim named Hazrat Mir Borhan lived here. Raja Parashuram ordered his sacrifice for sacrificing the cow by vowing his son, and this Oli came in ascending to the fish to help him. That's why he is called Mahi Sawar.
