Which of you know how the wild strawberries smell? In my country, I'm sure most of my peers remember it, wondering what the situation in the rest of the world, would be interesting to hear your thoughts in the comments. For me, the smell of a wild strawberry is a smell of childhood. Most of the children living in cities (with those who lived in the village, and so everything is clear) spent summer holidays in the village with their grandparents, because the roots of almost all Ukrainians grow from the countryside. When the summer came, some of the first berries that were ripening were wild strawberries, because they were very small, but because of that, they were very sweet and fragrant. It was difficult to pick up a large number of such berries, because the children have no patience, but each of us in the childhood at least once was able to taste wild strawberries. |
I love the smell of strawberries, but these days they don't seem to have the flavor they used too. I think it is because they are grown in bulk and sold in stores as fast as possible.
I have grown them in my garden before and they taste so much better, and the smell is amazing too.
Hope you enjoyed them 😋
yeah, especially in the fascination were the children who helped their grandfather gather it in the woods!
Oh, you got these in the woods? I have never seen them grow like that before, here we have them in a field and we can PYO. other than that it is to the supermarket for them.
Like I said supermarket strawberries taste nasty, mass produced and they rot so fast, you get maybe 2 days at the most once you get them home.
Yes, it's impossible to buy a good strawberry in a supermarket, maybe some farmer will sell it on the market, but such berries will be much more expensive.
