has always bothered this camp. Hence, they have always attempted to either undermine or reject completely the notion of the Bible as a sacred
document. People the likes of Horace Bushnell, a western liberal, refuted the doctrine of verbal inspiration and infallibility of Scripture as something involving “insuperable difficulties.”10 Part of the difficulties with the notion of accepting the doctrine of biblical inspiration was coming out of the deistic view of Scripture.
