The peasants of the slopes of Mount Sindoro in Purbosari village, Ngadirejo, Temanggung regency, Central Java, began planting tobacco during the transition of the rainy season to this drought.

Farmers in Liyangan hamlet, Purbosari Village, Ngadirejo Subdistrict, Sudari in Temanggung, Monday (7/5/2018), said they have started to plant tobacco since April 2018.
He said most farmers grow tobacco varieties kemloko with the hope of tobacco prices this year better than 2017.
He said today the tobacco seeds are planted among garlic plants that will soon enter the harvest period.
According to him planting tobacco in the middle of garlic plants will not affect the growth of tobacco plants.
"It will not be disturbed, especially when it is planting garlic using mulch plastic, so the food for the plant has been divided according to the portion," he explained.
He said as in previous years, now he also grows tobacco varieties kemloko because the quality of tobacco produced better.
"Every year we must plant the type of kemloko, sesui demand for manufacturers and varieties kemloko is suitable planted here," he said.
He hopes tobacco plants can grow well and the price is also better than last year.
Other farmers Rohimah said at the beginning of tobacco harvest last year the price of tobacco was good, but over time the price of tobacco then declined until the end of harvest.
"In the first half of the harvest the price is quite good, the average tobacco farmers bought at a price between Rp 65 thousand to Rp80 thousand per kilogram.For the end of the harvest should be much higher, but last year's price actually declined," he said.
