Why do good things in life have an end ?

Like all streaming addicts, i never stop until i finish a show. The best shows aren't always the ones that keep on running season after season until losing the purpose and the main story of the show. They are not necessarily those who travel from country to country and become like a concept. I like the classic idea behind a series.

I like the fact that it actually gives you the time to know all the characters, to help you think like the narrator and give you the thrills everytime you didn't except a certain drift in the story., and BAM it hits you up like .. I am not the greatest story teller of all times, but i am a very good watcher. I like to analyse what i watch and see beyond it.

I truly believe that Cinema and Streaming are not opposite, they are different ways to fulfill the same need, the need to tell stories, to share thoughts, ideas, fantasies, drama and sometimes fears.

It is amazing to see that streaming only allowed many many people to step into the craft and bring creative new ideas. Yet it is not common to find a THE story with THE characters each one wishes for secretly in their inner mind.

So everytime i start a show that i was hoping for, it suddenly gets cancelled. I know, that this kind of business is very very unstable and due to many factors, many investors are in and many contracts are being released and shut down every minute. But hey, doesn't anyone about the stories ? I must confess that ends are made for a reason. but hey, why do they have such frustrating ends ?

Here is a list of 7 series and tv shows i wish haven't ended the way they did !

1- Dexter

The way it ended, it made it look like he regrets everything he is. Yet killing his sister wasn't the smartest thing to do especially by the smartest Dark defender and serial killer of all modern times. Why would he get suddenly weak after following the same instinct that made him get away with it. I can see that they made him look like an animal waiting for real preys to capture in the mountain, away from civilization, but how can we really think that this is "where he belongs ?" I don't think that he would stay away from his habits for too long. And what about his son ? What will happen to that little uprising blood lover ? I don't know about you, but i think that Showtime only cancel shows they can relaunch !

2-Damien

This one broke my heart, literally. I was so surprised to see that they actually made a show out of my favorite horror movie as a child ! How could they just cancel this show ? The actors were brilliant ! The image was just perfect, the story was undeniably captivating it was going so well ! But i guess that like everytime a show crosses the church's sacred image, it gets cancelled. Weird but real. Deal with it, i'm trying to. I don't know what the real problem was and i don't wanna know. Because it is unethical to leave amazing shows unfinished. It's a waste of demand and a waste of money that could have been earned for a very very long time. When a character becomes an icon, it should survive ! Why aren't there like laws to protect us viewers from deception and unfinished work >< !

3-The leftovers

A great ending, an amazing show, the most brilliant screen play in a drama series i've watched so far. The music is incredible and the story is just so profoundly and shockingly touching ! I just didn't want this to end ! I don't know if it's sadism in the streaming world but you tell me ! What's wrong with enjoying a greatly written fiction that is being played by very talented actors ? I wish they would have merged into a new dramatic concept. The leftovers visited many layers in our social lives in a very cinematic approach, on TV ! Loss, revisited ! They could have revisited other aspects of Drama in social life. I mean, now we have nothing alike, all the other series are really mediocre compared to this rendu !

4- Skins

Every millennial kid knows about skins.
Once there has been a US version of SKINS (Original UK) which made skins fans lose all faith in the show. Skins uk just stopped. They sold it to the US and got fucked because now they can produce it again ! And no matter what they do now, they would have already killed an eternal concept ! The series was about following a new generation every two seasons. Ever since; there has been attempts of recreating the same idea, but it's all lost now ... We original fans of skins UK are deeply deeply disappointed by how you underestimate and doubt us. You could have been done wonders...Old show runners, YOU STILL CAN, and i hope you will ! I hope that my kids will watch skins someday !

5- Real Humans

This one was mutilated and crippled by the US too. This one was an ARTE production, a Swedish sci-fi series that was remade to shit on the idea. To strech it out into millions of seasons while forgetting about the main idea. This was my big loss. The biggest lost, i was so happy that there was finally a serious show about scientific progress in a near future ! Robots ! They killed it, The show was just Perfect. i had watched a Swedish movie once and i liked it. The way the actors act was just, so freaking real ! They were pragmatic, direct ! i loved that, maybe it's a style, and i just fell for it even more when real humans was launched in January 2012. It Sadly was cancelled in 2014. I presume that it was due to a lack of budget...? I don't think that there was no appearing suite and that no one could have come up with the next step ... So yes; this was the most frustrating cancellation way before #Damian ... Right after #Dexter.

6- Cannabis

This one is another product of ARTE. It just suddenly stopped after the first season, in mysterious circumstances. Knowing that is was an uprising show. Many many views, went viral in north africa and europe. The first show to talk about the cannabis business between #Morocco and #Europe. it's just a fiction why stop shows because of taboos ?

7- True Blood

Why keep on Grey's anatomy and not True blood . Seriously , why discrimination against fantasy? Good drama fantasy is always vowed to weird ends. -___- Don't you guys miss Sookie ?? SOOOOOOOKIIIIIE !!! i'm outta here.
