Bamboo used for making furniture usually cut or cut down after the age of 13 months with the assessment that the bamboo has a thickness of the stem and age enough to be processed into a craft product.
In the tropics, bamboo is usually less durable because it contains the preferred kanji termites and a good growing place for the fungus due to high temperature and humidity so it requires the process of preservation and bamboo drying to become tougher and can last more than 10 years.
