The blood of Christ is the basis of the New Covenant and the new era of man and Christianity on earth. The night before His crucifixion, Jesus gave wine to His disciples and told them, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you." The wine in the cup, means the blood of Christ that would be shed by all those who would believe in Him and thus pay for the sins of humanity.When His blood was shed on the cross, Jesus eliminated the Old Covenant of animal sacrifice because that blood was not enough to cover the sins of men, the sin against a holy and infinite God, therefore a holy and definitive sacrifice would be needed.While the blood of animals was a reminder of sin, the blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or blemish, totally paid the debt of sin that we owed to God Jesus said, "It is finished" while dying on the cross, and with that he meant that his work was complete in redemption and was made forever, obtaining eternal redemption for us.

The blood of Christ as a means of atonement for sin, originates in the ancient Mosaic Law, where once a year, a priest had to make an offering of the blood of animals. For that law everything was purified with blood, without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. But this was an offering of blood was limited in its effect, because it had to be offered again and again. That is why the sacrifice of Jesus offered on the cross was forever, and once that sacrifice was made, there was no need for the blood of animals. This is why we speak of a new and old covenant, the old where animals were sacrificed to wash away the sins of man, but they should be done continually, and a new covenant where Jesus paid all the sins of man with his sacrifice on the cross of Calvary.

The blood of Christ not only redeems man from sin and eternal damnation but blood will purify our conscience and spirit to serve God. As the blood of Christ has redeemed us, we are now new creatures in Christ and by his blood we are freed from sin to serve God, to glorify him, and to enjoy him for an eternity, and literally if the blood of Jesus had that power , that is why all Christians use the phrase, "THE BLOOD OF CHRIST HAS POWER", and it is because that blood was able to cleanse the sin of humanity and so everything can be in Christ Jesus, there is no difficulty or impediment that can not achieve or overcome if you trust in him and in that covenant of salvation and redemption that only gives us faith of that love that GOD feels for his children.
