Bird of Paradise birds Male males today have feathers ornate tassels on the sides of their breasts that are purplish blue when viewed from below and reddish brown when viewed from above. On the chest there is a black oval circle with a red colored edge. At the tail there are two long black straps with rounded edges and blue. The female bird is smaller in size, without embellished reddish-brown feathers and lower body.
