Almarhum menghembuskan nafas terakhir di usia 81 tahun di Rumah Sakit Medistra, Jakarta. Beliau adalah ayahanda dari Presiden Inter Milan sekaligus pemilik Mahaka Media, Erick Thohir. H Mochamad Thohir lahir pada 5 Maret 1935. Beliau dikenal sebagai salah satu pemilik Astra Internasional, perusahaan induk untuk berbagai bisnis yang juga meliputi banyak bidang industri.
Menurut informasi yang saya baca disini Inter Milan sebagai klub yang selama empat tahun belakangan ini dipegang putra almarhum juga ikut berduka. Pengenaan pita hitam dilakukan para pemain Inter Milan saat berlaga melawan Southampton pada hari Kamis (3/11). Pita hitam tanda berkabung juga dikenakan para pelatih dan staf kepelatihan serta manejemen klub, tim sepak bola perempuan Inter Milan dan juga tim junior.
Masjid Putih yang Megah Untuk Ayahanda
source Thohir bersaudara, Garibaldi Thohir, Erick Thohir dan Hireka Vitaya membangun sebuah masjid megah untuk menghormati ayahanda Almarhum H Mochamad Thohir. Wakil Presiden Jusuf Kalla yang juga Ketua Umum Dewan Masjid Indonesia akan meletakkan Batu pertama sebagai tanda dimulainya pembangunan masjid, Sabtu (31/3).
Pembangunan masjid ini dilakukan di Cimanggis, Kotamadya Depok. Masjid ini diberi nama At Thohir, diambil dari nama almarhum ayahanda. Masjid yang dibangun di tanah seluas 9.000 meter persegi ini akan dilengkapi dengan aula serbaguna dan parkir semi basement. Total luas bangunan dua lantai ini mencapai 4.000 meter persegi. Sekeliling masjid juga dihiasi dengan lahan hijau dan taman yang luas lengkap dengan sungai kecil yang mengalir di sisi masjid.
Alasan masjid ini berwarna putih adalah karena warna putih merupakan lambang dari kesucian. Kata ini memiliki arti yang sama dengan nama masjid tersebut, yaitu At Thohir, yang juga berarti suci.
“Ini merupakan tanda bakti kami kepada almarhum,” tutur Garibaldi Thohir yang merupakan putra kedua Teddy Thohir, di sela acara peletakan batu pertama.
Salah satu pesan penting soal keluarga yang pernah diucapkan oleh almarhum adalah bahwa sehebat apapun orang, dia tidak akan sukses jika tanpa dukungan keluarga. Karena itu, almarhum selalu menjadikan perhatian terhadap keluarga sebagai hal yang paling prioritas. Setiap anggota keluarga juga ditekankannya untuk bisa saling menghargai.

Vice President Jusuf Kalla who is also Chairman of the Indonesian Mosque Council will lay the first Stone as a sign of the start of mosque construction on Saturday (31/3).
Construction of this mosque has begun in Cimanggis, Depok Municipality. The mosque was named At Thohir, taken from the name of the late father. The mosque built on 9,000 square meters of land will be equipped with a multipurpose hall and semi-basement parking. The total area of this two-story building reaches 4,000 square meters. The surroundings of the mosque are also decorated with green fields and extensive gardens complete with small rivers running down the side of the mosque.
The reason this mosque is white is because white is the symbol of holiness. This word has the same meaning with the name of the mosque, which is At Thohir, which also means holy.
"This is a sign of our devotion to my father," said Garibaldi Thohir who is the second son of Teddy Thohir, on the sidelines of the groundbreaking ceremony.
One of the important messages about the family that the deceased had said was that as good as anyone, he would not be successful without family support. Therefore, the deceased always make the attention to the family as the most priority. Every member of the family also emphasized to be mutual respect.
