International Mother's Day 2018.

Today 13th May is worldwide observed as "International Mother's Day". The day is marked especially in honour of mothers. Verily a mother's affection towards her child is immense and of course immeasurable. Being a mother is everything to her. Thinking of her children and doing every possible thing for them is the main motto of every mother so that she can bring a smile to her child's face. Beyond all doubt, the relationship between a mother and her children is the best & most beautiful relationship in the world. To every child, mother is the most beloved and special person undeniably.

Early History of celebration of Mother's Day

Celebrations of mothers and motherhood can be found among ancient Greeks and Romans, who used to carry out festivals esteeming mother goddesses Rhea and Cybele.However , the clearest modern precedent for Mother's Day is the early Christian festival known as “Mothering Sunday".

Establishment as a holiday in modern history

The modern holiday of Mother's Day was first observed in 1908, when an American prominent social activist named Anna Jarvis held a memorial for her mother at St Andrew's Methodist Church in Grafton, West Virginia. .
By the early 1920s, Hallmark Cards and other companies had started selling Mother's Day cards.
