Aardvark

Aardvark known by the name Ant Bears (Ant bear) is an ant feeder mammals that spread can only be found on the African continent. The word aardvark is taken from the African language, which in English means "earthpig" (ground pig), although their similarities with pigs are few.

An aardvark can dig hard ground faster than some people dig with a shovel. Aardvarks are animals that are active at night (noktural). They spend the time of the morning by sleeping curled up in their nests. Aardvark looks for ants and termites to eat by walking zigzags along the ground with their muzzles. They tend to walk by poking their claws into the ground and looking a bit slow and awkward. If running on soft ground, the aardvark's tail will drag and leave a trail behind it.

The distribution of aardvarks is largely determined by the distribution of ant species and termites suitable for their diet.
