we tend to dislike something uncertain and the results are not instantaneous, our brains will do various ways to influence our minds that what feels good is the right thing to do. An example of a smoker who starts having respiratory problems knows that it is time to stop smoking, but his brain always says "1 stalk again will not make me die", and continuously smoked one by one until he finally got lung cancer (this is true story of my friend). No more is no more, if you really want to stop then there's no more "one more" word, for "1 again" reason, "this is the last one", and so is just a reason that our brain creates to make something that feels good / tastes to be the right thing to do.
