planting shallots
Before planting what needs to be considered is how to process the soil. The trick is to loosen the soil using a hoe for medium-sized land. When planting using pots and polybags, the treated soil is transferred to a pot and a polybag the size of two squares of soil and one compost compost. For its size, you can see large and small pots or polybags. Then the soil is given a little water.
Furthermore, the selection of good red onion seeds is a seed that has been stored for 2-3 months, and comes from plants harvested at the age of 70-90 days. Because at that age the tubers used as seeds have root growing points. Bulbs must also come from healthy plants with characteristics: look bright, fresh, not wrinkled, and there is no black color caused by the disease.
Do not use tubers that are too small for seedlings, because small seedlings will make plant growth less good and few results. The bulbs must also be uniform in size, there are no wounds, or do not tear on the skin. Before planting, the end of the tuber is first cut about 1/3 - ¼ part of the length of the tuber. While the outer skin of the seeds is dried and the remnants of the roots are removed.
The goal is that the growth of the tuber is evenly distributed, stimulates the growth of shoots and the growth of the plant itself, and stimulates the growth of side bulbs, and encourages the formation of seedlings. To prevent decay, before planting, cutting marks on the tubers must be dried first.
