Vehicle Photography: Classic Volkswagen Beetle

I fondly recall this fun game that my friends and I used to play when were little, called "Pendong, Kotseng Kuba"

If you grew up around Metro Manila in the 80's and 90's, you probably have a memory of playing this game with your peers then too.

It was this silly game where one gets lightly tapped on the head everytime a Volkswagen Bettle car (like the one in the picture above) appears in sight. Whoever gets to spot the car first, can tap a friend on the head while saying the phrase "Pendong, Kotseng Kuba", quickly followed by flashing the peace sign, to indicate that they can't hit you back. Kotseng kuba means a hunchback car, while Pendong I assume refers to the action of tapping on the head. I'm not certain though. Like I said, it was a silly game, and frankly quite pointless, but we sure had fun playing it as kids.

This picture above looks like an old model of the bettle that they repainted and made to look like new and cleverly use it to accentuate their business' signage. It sure made me notice it enough to even stop to take a picture. Perfect for today's #vehiclephotography challenge by @juliank.
