Cocoon OR pupa (Latin pupa, 'puppet') is a prayer One stadium of insect life Who undergoes metamorphosis. This phase is found only in insects that report complete metamorphosis, which fills four stages; embryo, larva, pupa, and adult. At this stage the adult body structure begins to form and the larval body structure disappears. Cocoon is generally inactive and can not move (sesil).

The pupae of different types of insects have names that can vary, for example called "christmas" for Lepidoptera.
