Turtles

You and We are very familiar with this one animal whose name is "Turtles". Turtles are animals that are classified or grouped into amphibians which are often found by humans. Almost everyone in the world or in any country knows these animals well even even small children know them best.

In general, this one animal certainly has certain characteristics such as having an upper shell called the carapace (the back of the shell or outer skeleton) and the lower part is called a plastron (the almost flat part of the shell structure). with thick scales which are scales made from keratin (a protein similar to those made by our fingernails).

Karapas can help show the age of turtles with a number of concentric circles, similar to cross sections of trees. You often see that most turtles can pull their heads back to the shell they have. Then they have four limbs and one tail to the shell for protection when he feels dangerous for him. However, the four members cannot be separated from the functions of the body.

Turtles have sizes that vary in size from a few centimeters to two meters. For example male turtles tend to have neck plates that are longer and more prominent than female turtles. Then these animals tend to be diurnal animals (active during the day) with a tendency to become dull (animals that are especially active at dusk), depending on the temperature of the environment. In general, a turtle is a closed and shy creature. If he is close to something that can make him uncomfortable then he will close himself by pulling all his limbs like, head, two legs, and two hands into the shell inside him . This is done if he feels insecure for someone who will approach him and for them this is a tool to protect them from enemy attacks.

However, not all turtles have shells that can hide inside but there are other types that cannot do it like a turtle. For example, another type of turtle (Penyu), this type has a shell but cannot pull the head, two hands and two legs into the shell because there is no empty cavity or shell that is firmly attached to the body.
