TPL Helps Build Drainage

Simalungun, (Analysis). As a good commitment to the community (good for community), PT. Toba Pulp Lestari Tbk (TPL) handed over 300 meters of drainage development in Huta Manik Huluan Hamlet, Nagori Sait Buttu Saribu, Pematang Sidamanik Subdistrict, Simalungun Regency, Wednesday (9/5).
The handover of drainage assistance is carried out by PT TPL Estate AA Nauli, Bahara Sibuea, and PT TPL Community Empowerment staff, Tasya Anggun Sirait, to Pangulu Nagori Sait Buttu Saribu, Ngatio and Huta Manik Huluan, Sugiyati .
Nagori Sait Buttu Saribu is a village directly adjacent to the industrial timber plantation (HTI) of PT TPL Aek Nauli in Simalungun.
"We appreciate the help of PT TPL towards our village and we feel appreciated by the company. Drainage is very useful because of its benefits to more than 200 families here, "said Sugiyati.
Sugiyati added that previously the residents made the trenches or drainage is self-supporting and not permanent.
"In the past many houses were flooded and muddy because there was no drainage flow especially during the rainy season. But now citizens do not worry anymore, "he said.
The same thing is expressed by community leaders, Krisman Sagala, for the concern and goodwill of PT TPL. Pangulu Nagori Sait Buttu Saribu, Ngatio, also expressed his gratitude for the drainage assistance from PT TPL.
Drainage assistance PT TPL has a length of 300 meters with a height of 70 cm with a drainage base width of 50 cm and width of the drainage top 60 cm.
Infrastructure such as drainage is very important for the villagers. The village environment becomes more tidy and there are no more puddles. We hope that residents will be able to take care of drainage and no one will throw any garbage into drainage, "said PT TPL Community Empowerment Manager Ramida Siringoringo.
The drainage construction was carried out since February and completed in March 2018. Previously, PT TPL also handed over the aid of retaining wall in Dusun Huta Tonga, Nagori Pondok Buluh, Dolok Panribuan Sub-district, Simalungun Regency, last March.
This retaining wall has a length of 14 m and a height of 2.5 meters with a width of 40 cm which functions to withstand the scouring of soil from umbul or water source and facilitate the residents of Huta Tonga Hamlet in obtaining water sources.
