See, from His head. His hands, His feet,
Sorrow and love flow mingled down :
Did e'er such love and sorrow meet,
Or thorns compose so rich a crown?
When the woes of life o'ertake me,
Hopes deceive, and fears annoy,
Never shall the Cross forsake me :
Lo! it glows with peace and joy.
