The Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) of Aceh stated that the Aceh noodle products in some markets in the westernmost provinces of Sumatra are free of preservatives or harmful chemicals of the formalin type.
It is the result of officers to several markets in Banda Aceh and Aceh Besar.
Head of BPOM Aceh Zulkifli said that when officers conducted a field inspection, the majority of Aceh's noodles were free of preservative preservatives. However, some are found to contain borax type preservatives.

BPOM Aceh has imposed sanctions in the form of warning letters and letters of reprimand to every food production entrepreneur who mixed these preservatives.
One of the businessmen of Aceh noodle production, Samsul, said never mixing any preservatives in mi.
"I never use preservatives in mi," said Samsul at Lambaro Market, Ingin Jaya Sub-district, Aceh Besar, on Wednesday while presenting a preservative release issued by BPOM Aceh Besar by the end of 2017.

Samsul also conveyed, BPOM Aceh Besar officers have come to where he produces mi Aceh and check the mi directly on the spot.
"BPOM officers have visited my place several times and this noodles I made is tested and then this result is all declared free of all kinds of preservatives," he said.
Samsul also explained, in a letter issued BPOM Aceh Besar written mi Aceh is free from preservative types of formalin and borax.
"All kinds of preservatives are harmful to Islamic health and religion also strictly prohibits using preservatives in food," explained the businessman.
