We often hear the term "clockwise" for the round to the right. That's because the clock spins in the right direction. Why is the clock spinning in the right direction? There seems to be no problem even though the clock spins to the left. How did the ancient man decide the direction of clock spinning?

The Sun clock, the world's oldest clock

The origin of this hour's clock direction is from the sundial. If the mainland is more on the southern part of the Earth, it may be that the clock we use today is the direction the needle is spinning to the left.
