I also have been watching Gold Rush for several years – this show launched post financial crisis when many people were dealing with the effects of the recession. It was refreshing to watch 5 out of work guys pack it up and move to Alaska to go gold mining (with no mining experience, except for the old dude who was a failed miner back in the 70’s).
