From Mu'adz bin Jabal r.a. said: "I ask," O Messenger of Allah, tell me about a charity that enters me to heaven and distance me from hell! "The Messenger of Allah replied, 'You ask me about the great things that are easy for those who are eased by God to run it you should worship Allah without associating anything with Him, establishing prayer, paying zakat, shaum in Ramadan and going to the pilgrimage to the House. 'Then he said,' Do you not tell me about the doors of goodness? Shaum is a shield, a charity to blame for sin or mistake like water to kill fire and prayer in the middle of the night. 'Then Allah's Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) reads the following verse:' Their hind legs fall from their beds while they pray to their Rabb with fear and hope and spend some of the sustenance We have given them.
