Compared to Spotify, Apple Music Has 38 Million Premium Users
Apple's music player service recorded 38 million paid users, up from 36 million in February. That number is far behind compared to Spotify which has 71 million premium users by the end of 2017.
Apple's premium user numbers are up slightly each period. Since its introduction at the World Wide Developer Conference in June 2015, the next four months Apple Music has only 6.5 million premium users.
The number continues to grow slowly until in September 2017 and Apple Music recorded paying users as much as 30 million.
Apple is competing with rivals such as Amazon, Google, and Spotify in the realm of streaming music players. Amazon Music Unlimited has 16 million paid users, while Google does not release premium user numbers for its Google Play Music services.
Apple, Spotify, and Google charge a fee of US $ 9.99 per month for music services without advertising. Apple offers a free trial service for three months for its users.
"Currently we have 8 million users try free Apple Music," said vice president of Apple software and internet services, Eccy Cue as reported by Reuters.
