3 Qualities of Sleep Quality
If you do not meet this requirement, arguably the purpose of sleep is not achieved. AMLIFE Health Consultant Edward Yong explains three main characteristics of good sleep quality.
"There are three elements that can determine the quality of sleep is good, the first duration, continuity and depth," said Edward in the warning of World Sleep Day from AMLIFE in Jakarta, some time ago. World Sleep Day this year is celebrated on this day, Friday (16/3).
Duration is the length of time a person sleeps. Normally, adults sleep within 7-8 hours per day. However, according to Edward, the average Indonesian people sleep 6.5 hours per day.
The second feature is continuity. This can be seen from the time of sleep that does not stop until wake up tomorrow. When awake in the middle of the night sleep is not included in the category of quality sleep and may have a sleep disorder.
Sleep quality is also characterized by the depth of sleep or the level of tiredness. A good sleep makes the body feel refreshed the next day and ready to start the activity.
"If after waking up but still tired means not qualified," said Edward.
Edward explains that quality sleep can help develop hormones to regenerate cells, repair organs and break down fats. Quality sleep can also prevent premature aging, prevent tumors and break down toxins.
