According to the announcement, Tribe "three-starred" its way through thousands of top-gamers to earn their spot at the March Katowice Offline Qualifiers. At Katowice, the team made its way to the playoff finals against DK 2nd Brigade, where Tribe defeated the competitor in a best-of-three series.
The win notably came less than a week after Tribe acquired Dark Looters, the most decorated team in Clash of Clans' history.
"My career in gaming all started because of one game – Clash of Clans," said Carney. "To be able to return to my roots by bringing Dark Looters to the Tribe is a dream come true! While I won't be making an appearance on stage anytime soon, I'll be fiercely rooting for these guys as they make their way to the Clash of Clans World Championship."
The upcoming series will have 6 months of competitions with a brand new 5v5 format for the Clan War Leagues with $1 million in total prizes.
For its part, Supercell recently reported that it generated a profit of $635 million on revenue of $1.6 billion in 2018, a drop from the $810 million profit in 2017 on revenues of $2.029 billion.
