The important things in e-sports last week! March 25 2018

Some pretty important things happened for e-sports last week, here's the summary...

For the up and coming e-sports games we have

Quake:

Giving a down right fast paced action filled tournament that would be nothing less than what we expect from this game; Quake Champion's BEAT Invitation gave us heart racing entertainment and saw "Xron" dominate the competition and in group stages and all the way to the finals, wining the tournament with 3-1 and taking home $1250.  This is the start of what promises to be a adrenaline filled e-sports game for future tournaments.

PUBG:

PUBG saw a another tournament (arguably the 3rd big tournament) with the Spring invitational this weekend and boy was it breath holding as each round contenders displayed a new way to play this game. While Grubie and Ghost Gaming each took 4 rounds with 1st place, it was up to the kill score to determine the winners and there was hands down a team that was always prepared for the kill. Ghost Gaming was crowned champions walking away with $50,000 in prize money. Solidifying PUBG in the e-sports scene.

Counter Strike:

Budapest hosted a mind blowing tournament with the  V4 future sports festival and giving some well deserved focus on the  8 teams with players from Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic, & Slovakia. It was Hair raising action from the start as Virtus.Pro took down faze and went to fight Mousesports in the finals and going down 2-1, crowning Mousesports the champions with 200,000 Euro prize money. GG WP!

Dota 2 :

Ah, yes, here is some debate to be had. Dream League season 9 ended this weekend with a few upsets and some ground breaking action (not earth shakers fault). It started with Team liquid not having their all star mid player Miracle to shut down the competition. However they did still do well while playing with their coach "Heen", it was just not enough when the competition got tougher. While Liquid knocked FNATIC down to the lower bracket it was immensely exciting to watch these underdogs beat back and reach the finals while beating teams like Liquid and Newbee, but in the end facing off against an old friend and now rival, Eternal Envy just could not get the farm he needed and team Secret took the final 3-0. Leading to the third consecutive Valve event leading to a 3-0 sweep and the second back to back victory for team secret! With Virtus.Pro already qualified for Ti8, who will secure their place next?
