The Magnum Opus, or the Great Work of Self Transformation (1/21/2016)
The Magnum Opus, a term originally relating to an alchemical process, that describes the process of working with the Prima Materia transforming it into the Philosopher's stone, or alchemist's gold which is the most valuable substance.
Now, any seeker knows and understands that Alchemy was a process of using physical materials and processes to receive spiritual enlightenment, the Magnum opus is the Greatest of these processes.
We are here to Transmute, Transform, and evolve our souls. This is our purpose, Understanding of the Magnum Opus shows us how our ancestors understood it.
The Prima Materia was Placed through four Stages Called the Nigredo (Blackening) the Albedo (Whitening) Citrinitas (Yellowing) and Rubedo (reddening)
These four stages also had stub stages, such as the calcification, solution or dissolution, conjunction, and so fourth. In understanding these stages and sub stages we begin to understand the processes of spiritual growth that we ourselves go through as well.
Jungian Psychology saw alchemy, specifically Gnostic Alchemy as a key factor in the process of understanding one's self as an individual.Jung describes this process as having four stages: confession, elucidation, education and transformation.
