How to Vote for EOS Block Producers using Greymass Desktop Wallet
OMG how to vote is the big question at the moment but things are not that straight forward!
Now EOS is live I wanted to cast my votes, only to find out it's actually rather complicated! I eventually voted and set out the process in this video. If you like coffee as much as I do, I would suggest you grab a cup and take your time to walk through the process with us.
Thanks to Aaron and Scott at Greymass for building this voting tool for the community.
When you have followed the instructions you'll be able to vote for 30 Block Producers of your choice. Please vote for EOS UK so we can provide a local node to the UK with superfast connectivity to the EOS network and continue to create and deliver these useful resources and Meetups and represent the British interests within the EOS community.
There will be many different platforms offering ways to vote but please remember that you should never supply your private keys to any third party. All good portals will use https secure connections. Make sure you always carefully read the url of any voting portal site you are entering. Please watch out for any phishing sites and report any you find to us so we can get the word out to the community.
It's important to learn to understand the difference between entering your private key to sign something and entering it on a website which I would never recommend.
If you find the video useful and you choose to vote for us as your ‘common sense Block Producer’ the EOS UK Block Producer handle on the EOS Mainnet is ‘ eosukblocpro ‘ select this name from the list of producers to vote for us. Thanks so much to everyone who has voted already, it really means a lot to me that we have your support and I'll do everything in my power to make sure we represent your interests in a reliable, professional and robust manner.
If you need any help to vote or require any clarification, then please get in contact with us via the details at the bottom of each page on our website. Watch the full instructional video at https://eosuk.io/2018/06/11/how-to-vote-video-using-greymass-wallet/
The greymass tool really is an superb application for voting assistance. Great post and let's keep assuring the community that there are safe options out there for voting.
Add to that the code is open source, any security concerns can be verified and validated by reviewing the Github repo. This is the tool I am promoting to all I know.
