RE: EOS: A BULLISH Trend Reversal is Happening!!
hey @haejin, I thought you deserved an explanation for why I've started downvoting some of your posts, so here goes:
- I have nothing against you, nor against what you post. Steem is free for everyone to do as they please within the rules of the blockchain
- fundamentally, I have nothing against ranchorelaxo upvoting all your posts at full SP
- as you both are free to use your SP as you wish, so am I, and I have started to use mine to redistribute the rewards pool in a way that I see as being fairer, in this case less for you and more for everyone else. Ultimately, it will make more people stay, STEEM be more valuable, and we all win in the end
- I do not want to indiscriminately downvote you, so I'll be following the strategy explained here, I think that @transisto makes a very reasonable point in my eyes
- again, I do not want to censor you, but use my SP to have a say in the distribution of the rewards pool (which is SP's main function, but I'm definitely sure you already know that). In that sense, I will not downvote any of your posts so that it ends up with a 0 reward, only the ones that are disproportionately valued
I'm not asking that you don't downvote me or have any particular behavior towards me, I just wanted to list those reasons in the spirit of openness and transparency. I do really hope, though, that you will start to be less greedy and contribute more than what you take. I do understand the tragedy of the commons, but Steem's founders had different ideals when they created the system and I'd like to do my part to help perpetuate those. Cheers!
I'm new but I've already seen that the system is flawed and many bots/steem mercenaries try to use it to their advantage, isnt it? How to avoid it and how to reach some fair following on Steemit without it? Looks like you've been experienced in it, I would gladly use your help for my crypto blog content. Thank you :)
Great post, even if I disagree. Will you be downvoting comments? When you downvote something that was upvoted, does it destroy value or just redistribute it? I'm unclear on how it works.
I'm not sure people who join the site and see a bunch of downvoting will be more likely to stay, but if you believe their payouts are more important then best of luck.
Cheers
I'll try to explain it simply, even though the exact mechanisms behind are a bit more complex:
downvote
instead offlag
as I believe it better represents what happens, asflag
carries a very negative connotation that it doesn't have in the codeAs for downvoting comments, I won't be doing that. Hope it makes things a bit clearer.
Seems rational. There's an impact I suppose as there is limited voting power, but since the reward pool is constant it all balances out. Cool thanks for your clear response.
Your approach makes sense to me, and even if I disagree with what posts you feel are getting too much rewards, I can counter with an upvote. Best of luck.
