Line entering the cryptocurrency space. 👀

Line Corp. has announced that it has established a new company 'Line Financial'

Following up on “LINE Pay,” the company further reinforces its position in the financial business domain with insurance, loan, virtual currency (cryptocurrency), and more

The company has already begun the registration process to operate a virtual currency exchanger conforming to reglatory requirments.

With regard to the virtual currency related business, the application process for registration as a virtual currency exchanger has already been started with the Financial Services Agency, and it is currently under review.

The announcement follows stories based on rumors picked up by Bloomberg and TechCrunch earlier in the month both of which published stories on the latest announcement.

The announcement by Line Corp. gives little away on whether or not the company has plans to issue it's own cryptocurrency built on a public blockchain such as EOS and instead leans more towards a cryptocurrency trading platform, built within the messaging app.
