Block Producer Candidate EOSAmericas Adds Network Security Expert H. Paul Hammann

EOSAmericas takes security very seriously and is taking all possible steps to address the high breadth and depth of attacks that the launch of the Mainnet is sure to attract. We have added noted network security expert H. Paul Hammann to our team to ensure we are addressing all potential threats to the EOS network.

Paul has worked for internet startups since before web browsers existed. Some notable ones are Hotmail, Tellme Networks, Powerset (all acquired by Microsoft) and OnLive (acquired by Sony). Paul is expert at building global low latency networks. These networks will be critical for the next generation of high transaction volume blockchain projects.

EOSAmericas is implementing and testing security approaches specific to the EOS network throughout the Mainnet launch. We intend to initially share our findings privately to other BP candidates so that all block producers will have an opportunity to improve their security measures. We are concerned that revealing security concerns at present could aid bad actors before block producers have a chance to implement recommendations. EOSAmericas intends to release a full public report of network security best practices based on Paul’s security roadmap and our implementation findings 90 days after mainnet launch.
