Potential Scam Alert - Announcement on Bitcointalk
I was recently informed of a post on bitcointalk that many people suspected might be a secret launch of a new "ICO" for EOS.
Considering the confusion and the potential that almost $1M of BTC was given to the "donation address" I want to take measures to prevent this kind of subtle impersonation from hurting anyone else. I will not introduce any future projects through anonymous accounts.

Looks like only 20 people funded it so far.
EOS Party!
Just incase you missed the prior announcement, we will be throwing a party at the unveiling our new project, EOS. It will take place from May 22-25th at the the Consensus 2017 event in NYC. I am eager to connect in person with fellow developers and entrepreneurs.
We would like to thank everyone who reached out to claim the free tickets. We should be contacting you all shortly as I believe almost everyone was approved.
better first release on steem then BTS forum then btctalk
95 BTC will be worth $1M when a BTC reach $10.5K :)
I am pleased to say that they "lost" about $170K ...
And to me it seems nobody lost anything since it's probably from the same scammers sent just to convince others that it could be legit. So no worries ;)
I'll never understand how someone can live with themselves after taking something that isn't rightfully theirs from another human being by being deceitful. It's grotesque. In the grand scheme of things, I think that duping people that you convince to trust you is one of the best ways to perpetuate negativity and all-around decay society, it's so stupid.
On a lighter note, can't wait to get to NYC for Consensus! Airbnb is booked, plane tickets being purchased tomorrow, fully ready to roll!
I made a post yesterday about trying to find other folks from here that are attending Consensus so that we can have a small scale meetup of Steem and BTS users. Anyone reading this that's going to Consensus, please chime in on my blog post! You can find it here:

Myself as well as @robrigo will be rolling deep in NYC for the duration of Consensus 2017! I'll be lugging around a killer camera as well, so comb your hair and brush yo' teef!
"I'll never understand how someone can live with themselves after taking something that isn't rightfully theirs from another human being by being deceitful"
thats literally how capitalism works and millions have given their lives to defend it lol
Land of the free, home of the brave . . .
Hope you have a great time at Consensus! I'd love to go to something like that sometime, but alas, will have to content myself to reading play-by-plays on Reddit. Should be some exciting announcements to look forward to!
Horrible that address has 95 BTC. This type of scamming give crypto a bad name. The account only had 3 post. I feel bad for the many of people who fell for this.
Nice catch. I hope bitcointalk users are made aware of this scam attempt.
Glad i read this, ill pass the word on bct
If that is a scam, it's pretty clever. Perfect timing and written like it could be a Steem/Bitshares-like blockchain with witnesses.
And the rules say that it's only a donation, not an investment, so if nothing happens, nobody can complain.
Hey, Dan. Just curious...I've heard some chatter that there could possibly be an EOS sharedrop for Steem accounts. Any truth to this or has it even been considered?
We will not be doing a share drop on anyone.
He said not on anyone, not to anything
Proof of banana burn confirmed, everybody start stockpiling bananas for the bananapocolapse that shall ensue after the announcement.
BRB buying bananashares in anticipation of that pottasium drop!
A blockchain can only hope, hahaha :):)
:)) good one, man!
How I can import single BTC key form Angelshare donation in Bitshares 0.9.3 wallet. Thank you. Just need CLI command for that. Thank you.
OK, thanks.
Sounds exciting. Smart contracts sound like an excellent addition to graphene blockchains.
Looking forward to your project. Since you did such a great job with steem I'm curious how Eos will be :)
What the hell is wrong with some people? seriously, anyways good that there are people looking out for us noobs who usually can get suckered into stuff more easily :/
Good looking out @dantheman thank you
