BP Node: Introduction

The invention of blockchain technology has provided hope and mechanism for average individual to participate and contribute in the world which is economically and politically dominated by a relatively small and influential minority. Blockchain has created a level playing ground for everyone, which rewards creativity, integrity and inclusive atmosphere, where resources can be shared. The economy based on efficiency and shared resources will also help conserve our planet from environmental destruction. Radical transparency facilitated by blockchain will not only prevent corruption, it will also make average individual more informed, conscious and responsible towards his actions towards his environment, fellow citizens and government.
Bitcoin, Ethereum and other early blockchains have fired imagination of everyone and created high hopes, but failed to deliver to the hype and reach wider audience due to technical and governance challenges. New blockchain, EOS is well on-track to the deliver as the first and most comprehensive smart contract blockchain platform which can actually support real world applications with high transaction speed and volume. Team behind EOS lead by Dan Larimer is technically most capable and experienced in the field.
We have been following EOS since inception and learning about the space with EOS community. It is difficult to perceive all the different possibilities and opportunities EOS will create, getting involved early is best we can do. Most importantly we see governance to be the biggest and most unique aspect of EOS, and envision EOS to be the first most comprehensive platform to gain widespread user base, acceptance and legitimacy on the web. It will establish a standard for trust on which other platforms, organizations and even governments will try to build upon.
BPNode is a new group formed to participate in this revolution to make world a better place for our and future generations. Echoing and sharing vision with other block producers who want to use block producer revenue to build upon and support EOS environment and community to uphold transparency, trust and independence from any political influence.

Focus Areas:

As Block Producer candidate we will strive to focus on below listed areas:

Technical Training and Community Engagement (outside EOS platform):

Support EOS and Blockchain training for technical community. Purpose is to help attract new and existing developers from other platforms to learn advantages of EOS platform and realize its full potential. Help organize training sessions in developer hubs, universities and training institutes. Hold information sharing sessions for broader community. Host or support EOS / Blockchain Meetups wherever possible.

Application Development support:

Support development of public utility applications, either by financing external team or developing internal team.

Promote token holder awareness:

Provide transparency to token holders on Governance issue, and find mechanism to gather public opinion wherever possible.

Maintain Global presence:

Instead of focusing on a particular location, strive to maintain operational redundancy and political / jurisdictional independence.

As the project evolves, more details will be added on above focus areas.

Expected location of servers:

• Step 1: AWS Central Canada to begin with for public testnet, launch and early phase.
• Step 2: Explore having multiple nodes on managed servers in multiple jurisdictions, to maintain redundancy and diversity.

Type of Servers:

• Step 1: AWS Cloud for testnet, launch and early phase.
• Step 2: Explore Moving to managed server locally.
• Step 3: Explore running multiple nodes on managed servers across multiple jurisdictions.
• Step 4: Explore improvements and efficiency improvement using self-managed bare metal server.
  Network capacity and performance will be the key metric to decide on type of server.
