📜 Hangout Decree
This RSVP post will go out weekly as a place for people to sign up as speakers for various topics of importance to bitshares as we prepare for an Open Source Hangout. The reason it is done this way is to enable anyone to show up to receive coverage on topics they feel matter to the community and crypto space in general. Most places in cryptomedia require you to Pay to have a voice. Bitshares Open Source Meetups are meant to give a voice to anyone who may need one!

🕑 How Much Time Per Topic?
Hangouts will be at least 45 minutes long, but depending on attendance and projects/topics to be covered may last up to 60 minutes. Given this, we will try to stay with 5-6 core topics and will fit in others where possible.
🏅 What do we Earn for Active Participation?
Those who attend will be given an opportunity for 100 Beyondbits on the BitShares DEX (worth over $250). Best RSVP post wins 50Beyondbits (over $125) They will then be given directly to you via your Bitshares Wallet so make sure you have one!
Fuzzy will be giving Beyondbits to community founders who attend this weekly hangout to give their own unique perspectives and expert commentary. He will also be giving them to people who give topics and information we choose to use in our hangout!
So make sure you get a Get One!
Additionally every week one topic will be chosen for a Tokens4Tweets Post in which we reward those with Twitter Accounts for Sharing your content!

⛒ Is Any Topic Off Limits?
Yes. We reserve the right to learn from the newest trickster trolling steemit consistently searching for way to insert chaos into the equation and devise future strategies for negating these. Naturally if these efforts become ham-fisted attempts at shutting down free speech in honest conversations, the audience will hold us accountable.
But with that said....pretty much anything can be covered--even up to and including current events. However, I personally will only be voting up stories that touch the blockchain in some way shape or form and will be asking the community to downvote absolute Rubbish! ;)
What are Beyondbits and Whaleshares?
Beyondbits and Whaleshares started as a conversations in the BeyondBitcoin hangout series shortly after Steem was launched historically in those very hangouts. It began as "community tokens" or "tag coins" for those who never knew to listen in who may wish to listen to the origins in our BeyondBitcoin Podcast Series. Drop in and listen to them sometime!
These tokens give their hodlers the power to Summon a Whalevote to posts without having to pay for attention. And they are only given to people who Win Contests and do other things of value to the community!

@fox has announced the release of the official Bitshares Core Developer worker proposal on the Bitshares network. This worker proposal named '201803-bitshares-core' is now live and the community can cast their vote within the Bitshares wallets.
AEX exchange (formally known as BTC38) has announced that they have issued GAT (Global AEX Token) on the Bitshares blockchain. GAT is similar to Binance's BNB token and can be used as transaction fees or used for voting on new coins listings.
A new team of application developers has made themselves known to the community this week with the release of the email-notifier for BitShares DEX. The Notifier allows Bitshares users to subscribe to email alert for account changes such as Transfers, Fill Order execution, or, soon, breach of collateral ratio.
The BitShares Blockchain Foundation (@bitshares.fdn) has released a post that provide some insight to the complexities of listing with exchanges in today's legal focused landscape.
The BitShares Blockchain Foundation (@bitshares.fdn) have requested that BTS holders consider seven BitShares Improvement Proposal (BSIP). The BSIP's are proposed as worker proposal and available to be voted on with the Bitshares wallets.

Discussion Overview: Props4Crops is a social media site dedicated to organic/beyond organic gardeners and farmers where people can share images and relevant content about their garden and farm situations:)
It's been the intention since the inception of the site to attach a cryptocurrency to the 'like'/'props' feature. I first became aware of Steemit in August 2016 and immediately knew i had found the solution to the challenge:)

Various BitShares Improvement Proposals are out for review and vote by the Stakeholders
Suggested Duration: 2 to 5 minutes
BitShares Core developers have prepared improvements to the blockchain that involve changes to the protocol that would change future behavior of the blockchain. Each change to the protocol needs to be approved by the stakeholders. @abitmore and @oxarbitrage have prepared descriptions of each of those changes to assist the stakeholders in their review. These descriptions are generally called BitShares Improvement Proposal (BSIP). The list of the proposed changes are:
bsip-0030 | Always Allow Increasing Collateral Ratio If Debt Not Increased
bsip-0031 | Update Short Position's Margin Call Price After Partially Called Or Settled
bsip-0032 | Always Match Orders At Maker Price
bsip-0033 | Maker Orders With Better Prices Take Precedence
bsip-0034 | Always Trigger Margin Call When Call Price Above Or At Price Feed
bsip-0035 | Mitigate Rounding Issue On Order Matching
bsip-0036 | Remove expired price feeds on maintenance interval
bsip-0037 | Allow new asset name to end with a number

Press Release: AEX issues its own token on the Bitshares DEX

AEX announced that they issued a token called GAT (Global AEX Token) with a maximum quantity of 100 billion. ("aex.com is the former btc38.com, which was the biggest altcoin exchange in China.")
"GAT is similar to BNB of Binance Exchange, or HT of Huobi Exchange. It's called platform token, which can be used as transaction fee, or used for voting when new coins want to be listed. Also, part of the exchange income will be used to buy back GAT.
The difference of GAT with other platform tokens are as below."

"Obviously, this is a great news to Bitshares, as it means that if more platforms learn from AEX EXCHANGE and issue their tokens on Bitshares, customers will get an easy way to trade the tokens of different exchanges within Bitshares. Bitshares will become the platform of other platforms."

Press Release: OpenLedger reduces fees by 50% on the trading fees of OPEN assets

"Starting March 1st, 2018, OpenLedger DEX trading platform cuts all fees on all deals with open assets by 50%. The new market fee rate for each open asset is just 0,1%!"
