Sam’s video series & the absurdity of built in obsolescence
I buy a new Mac charger every six months because it always breaks due to overheating. My Mac pro laptop does run some very processor heavy software and i do happen to enjoy living in hot countries but even with this in mind, a new charger every six months feels excessive to me. Why not create a charger which can withstand the higher temperatures? Ah yes, the business boosting built in obsolescence issue. In my mind such practices should be outlawed for they pay no attention whatsoever to Mother Earth.
Right...mini rant done, back to the facts.
The charger broke again 5 days ago (you can see it above) and i am still waiting for the replacement to arrive so have been operating from my ipad which has been quite a challenge. Especially when it comes to making films. The first one came out okay as you can see...
Gratitude
I had to download new editing software and am grateful to add another string to my bow with this skill and particularly grateful for the awareness that i actually dont need my laptop at all!
However, i am also quite excited to get back to my speedy touch typing, which i am very grateful i learned how to do many years ago, back when I was assisting needy film directors ;)
Sam’s World
Ten days ago i committed myself to make more films about my life & thoughts and have been very much enjoying this process. The subjects covered are not planned in any way and i love how the world around me seems to create the story.
Esteban has been a big part of this series and i have a feeling the two of us will be making films together for many years to come, but this is where it started. Here on Steemit :)
For your entertainment i include for you now one of Esteban’s moments of perfection. On this occasion he had just learned how to hold his breath underwater.

In other news...
BTC is up above $8,150 but currently making a correction, which may take us back to the $8,000 region. The overall prognosis is good however and the rest of the market will surely follow suit now.

I wonder if it is something with your particular model? I have a 4+ year old MacBook Pro that runs 12 to 24 hours a day and runs BOINC so processor and GPU load are at close to 100% all the time. Never had a problem with the power supply. Having said that, it's always in a climate controlled environment (76-80 degrees F) so that may be the difference.
Yep, the climate control would have saved me but i went and lived in an eco comminity in Bali! And here next to the Spanish boarder i am blown away by how hot it is now. Similar to Bali. And still no AC.
Still waiting for that charger to arrive...
...and the crypto market to explode!
Absolutely, built-in crapiness is mostly the standard now.. The only way to get around it is to do deep research into all the manufacturers and maybe find one that is better (such as evga when it comes to computer components and maybe meile with white goods) and then probably pay a premium.
I remember at university they had toasters in the student kitchens that cost something like £1000 each (yes, just for making bread toast) because they are guaranteed basically forever.
This all comes down to a mixture of 'less wealthy people' needing to buy items they can afford (most people) and manufacturer's just being greedy by default.
£1000 for a toaster! Didnt even know such things existed. It makes sense though thinking about it. And a large part of that price would have to account for the fact that not too many people buy them.
Esteban’s moment video is so good and entertainment. What is name of another babies???. Where u from which location that
We travel & are currently living near Perpignan in South of France.
