China has issued an import stop of plastic. Immediately, the EU Commission proposes a plastic tax. But, how are we supposed to manage the waste problem?

For more than 60 years, plastic has been sold as a mass product. Since then we have produced 8.3 billion tons of it. The result: the majority of it pollutes the environment or goes to landfills. According to calculations, only about 29 percent of it was recycled or incinerated.
Waste carpet in the sea is a big problem. There, the plastic disintegrates into small parts and ends up in the stomach of fish and marine animals, and possibly also on our plates.
A plastic bag takes about 500 years to disintegrate.

In the EU, 30 percent of the plastic waste is recycled. Much has been exported to China so far, without knowing what is happening there. As of January 1, China has imposed a ban on imports, and now the EU has to take care of its own waste.
Immediately, a plastic tax was discussed in order to plug the budget hole that would have the planned EU exit of the British.
Reducing plastic bags is not enough!
Although since June 2016, the retail sector has been asked to no longer issue plastic bags and the consumption was reduced by a third, but that will not be enough according to experts. Researchers are of the opinion that recycling is not the solution of the plastic problem. Recycling actually only delays the disposal of the material. It is estimated that by the year 2050 about 34 billion tons of plastic will be pruduced, which is why you absolutely must take action!
To solve the plastic problem, it takes several measures. Longer usage, lower production, more proper recycling, use of sustainable materials, and expansion of waste incinerators.

China hat einen Importstopp von Plastik erlassen. Sogleich schlägt die EU-Kommision vor eine Plastiksteuer vor. Doch, wie sollen wir trotz all dem das Abfallproblem in den Griff bekommen?

Seit mehr als 60 Jahren wird Plastik als Massenprodukt verkauft. Seither haben wir 8,3 Millarden Tonnen davonm produziert. Die Folge: Der Großteil davon vermüllt die Umwelt oder lieft auf Deponien. Berechnungen zufolge wurden nur etwa 29 Prozent davon recycelt oder verbrannt.
Abfallteppiche im Meer stellen ein großes Problem dar. Dort zerfällt das Plastik in kleine Teile und landet im Magen von Fischen und Meerestieren, danach möglicherweise auch auf unseren Tellern.
Eine Plastiktüte braucht ca. 500 Jahre um zu zerfallen.
Wohin mit dem Müll?

In der EU werden 30 Prozent des Plastikmülls recycelt. Ein Großteil wurde bisher nach China exportiert, ohne zu wissen, was dort damit passiert. Zum 1. Jannuar hat China ein Importverbot erlassen, nun muss sich die EU selbst um ihren Abfall kümmern.
Sofort wurde eine Plastiksteuer diskutiert um das Haushaltsloch zu stopfen das der geplante EU-Austritt der Briten zufolge hätte.
Plastiktüten zu reduzieren reicht nicht!
Zwar wurde seit Juni 2016 der Einzelhandel dazu aufgefordert Plastiktüten nicht mehr gratis auszugeben und der Verbrauch ging um ein Drittel zurück, jedoch wird das laut Experten nicht genügen. Forscher sind der ansicht das Recycling nicht die Lösung des Plastikproblems ist. Recycling verzögert eigentlich nur die Entsorgung des Materials. Es wird geschätzt das bis zum Jahr 2050 ca. 34 Milliarden Tonnen Kunststoff prooduziert werden, weswegen man unbedingt Maßnahmen ergreifen müsse!
Um das Plastikproblem zu lösen, braucht es verschiedene Maßnahmen. Eine längere Nutzung, geringere Produktionszahlen, mehr richtiges Recycling, dass verwenden von nachhaltigen Materialien und auch der Ausbau von Müllverbrennungsanlagen.

Plastik ist wirklich eines der grossen offensichtlichen Umweltprobleme dieser Welt. Die Bevoelkerung muss noch mehr aufgeklaert werden welchen Schaden dieser ungezuegelte Plastikkonsum verursacht. Eine hohe Steuer wie bei Tabak, Alkohol und anderen schaedlichen Substanzen halte ich fuer einen guten Weg. Leider hat der Staat bei mir jegliches Vertrauen verloren dass er irgendwie mit Geld umgehen kann. Deshalb Steuer Ja aber Bitte die Mittel in einen sicheren und guten Zweck investieren.
Da muss ich dir Recht geben! Ich glaube Plastik zu besteuern wäre ein Weg. Was daraus wird, wird sich zeigen!
