I'm sure there will be lots of pressure from the oil and gas industry to keep their fossil cars. For many of us, owning an electric car is more about the near 0 maintenance, the cost savings (I save between $200-$250 per month over my 26-29mpg Subaru). I can't wait to get a solar roof and save even more!
Of course saving the air and other green initiatives are nice too, but short-term is all about the $avings!
