Youth Ministry in Service: Clean-up Drive
The Parish Youth Apostolate (PYA) is an organization composed of catholic young people ages 13 years old up to 40 years old who are not married, active or inactive in the church. This organization is based from different parishes. If you are belong in a catholic church and you are young, you are qualified to be part of the PYA family immediately.
Along with, the PYA family in Santo Niño Parish, Bacolod, Lanao del Norte organized a clean-up drive to protect, conserve and preserve the environment mainly here in our local community. It is part of our vision and mission as being part of the PYA and as a human being who is responsible in taking good care of God’s creation. So, here’s our coverage during the clean-up drive.
The ‘Oplan Pulot-Basura’ also called as ‘Picking up the Garbage Operation’ in public places. The young people in our town are cooperative and helpful in cleaning the public streets as shown in the picture above and the following pictures below.
The other young ones were cleaning in our very own public plaza in Bacolod. In case you didn’t know, the young participants were divided into few groups and were assigned in the different public areas in the municipality.
They picked up those unwanted substances or the non-biodegradable wastes in some of the public areas in their community. The same process on what we did in our clean-up drive in our place.
These were the collected garbages alongside the seashore of Kolambugan. Can you imagine that? Those were the generated wastes from their public market since it is beside the seashore. The local government in Kolambugan should do something about the solid waste management of their public market. The wastes should not be thrown away on the seashore.

In our little ways we can make a difference in helping to conserve and preserve our beloved mother nature. It is our only home. We, as a young people, who are the future in the society, it is our responsibility to give back the love which our environment deserves it. We should take care and love God’s creation as you love yourself. And be grateful on what He did for us by giving this paradise we lived in.
Thank you for reading and stopping by on my blog. See you on my next blog. Love you all.
