Sounds like an interesting read, and certainly is not a new idea. Strange how some folks still maintain GDP is the only way. I wonder if the only people saying that are economists from large GDP / 1st-world nations, and those who aspire to be?

I'd like to offer a slightly different view on this statement.

And that is, this perspective is not left-green, but that the left-green have taken that idea and run with it.

No these ideas have been around since the 1970s - I could go dig out my old essays from my Political Sociology Masters for the references, or you could just take my word for it! One of main text books on environmental thought history is by a guy called David Pepper, I remember that much!
