RE: Prosperity Without Growth (a summary, part 1 of 2)

Growth is pushed by those in charge because that is the only way the economy can function when the currency is debt based.

If growth is too low, the interest paid on the money that has already been borrowed into existence exceeds the new money being borrowed into existence and you end up in a deflationary vortex. Unless we wake up to this collectively and force monetary change we are headed towards some sort of financial calamity.

Sort:

we are heading towards some sort of financial calamity

  • again!

And I'm not just talking about 2008, all the many crashes before.

I'm quite taken by the argument that it's deliberate... debt fuelled booms and busts keep the rich in power while occassionally disrupting the poor.

How's life btw - long time no hear!

Bit consumed with the house build I guess which looks great so far btw!

Things have been good but crazy busy with the house build. I haven't had much time to keep up with much else. How have you been doing? Did moving to the new house pan out the way you had planned so far?

Good to hear it - your sort of busy is good!

Well I've halved my mortgage and I've been lucky with a new teacher training job (few days a month) and the revision tuitions going well so all good.

Life's just a bit too easy maybe!
