Can blockchain solve one of the biggest problems in East Africa?
The poor Ugandan farmer has no education, doesnt have a phone and does not have access to any market information and so he is exploited by middlemen to sell to them at ridiculously low prices and yet make almost 100% profit margin. These traders have access to market to processing companies in town and across the borders and continents.
Can blockchain technology help this farmer? If so. How would it be applied in the African society?What systems and structures can be put in place to ensure blockchain technology has all the information from this farmer and all the others to effectively and efficiently operate?
