RAMPAGE MOVIE WAS AWESOME, BUT SO DARN DISAPPOINTED ON SOME PART OF THE STORY ESPECIALLY THE ENDING, AND THIS IS WHAT I WANTED AND EXPECTED IT TO END.

If ever you haven't watched the movie Rampage, I advice you to watch it first coz it might spoil your plan on enjoying the movie once you read my article, Spoiler allert!!! and ofcourse watch it co’z its freaking awesome!!! but if you already done watching it, this topic is for you!!!

Well to be honest, if you are a person who wants to watch lots of action, destruction and those kind of stuff, this is perfect for your movie craving. From start to finish intense action and heart pumping scenes are happening in the story, it has humor in it and of course heartbreaking situation that will make you sad. In my case, I experienced all of this things but was not satisfied by some of the things in the story and especially the ending, I was like, “huh? Is this a joke?” and that is what I’m going to discuss later.

The movie is all about a gorilla who’s name is George, not George of the jungle ok,

it’s George, a rare Albino Gorilla,

was taken care by a character named Davis Okoye, starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Famous WWE wrestlet and actor.

Davis Okoye, is a former US army special forces
soldier and member of an anti-poaching unit, and now a Primatologist in a San Diego Wildlife Preserve. He became a good friend of George whom he saved from poachers who killed his family infront of him.

Maybe that’s the reason why they have a strong bond of friendship together. Then the unexpected happen when a research space station accidentally let lose one of their laboratory mice experiment that mutated into a huge monster and killed everybody on board. One lucky lady scientist escaped but to bad for her, her capsule exploded, but she managed to retrieve 3 canisters containing the chemical that made the mice become a monster. This chemicals is named as Project Rampage, a biological weapon which is owned by a big company and costs billions of dollars.

When it reached the earth, it infected 3 wild animals including George, a wolf and a crocodile. Well this is the point where my critical mind starts to question, how come one animal was infected by one canister? probably there are insects there, or maybe worms that can be infected as well and can grew big. Imagine an ant the size of an elephant?

Well back to the story, those animals that was infected grew big and became hostile, it doesn’t recognize anything and it literally destroys everything in its path. In this point, this is where all chaos lose and the story became a razzel dazzle chasing and destroying like how King Kong movie and Godzilla movie does best, and don’t forget Jurassic Park,

and like how me and my brothers playing in our parents bed when we where young.

Anyway, it was an intense chase and a huge chaos in the city was made by this monsters. But before this rampaging event in the city happened, there was a scene where there are elite soldiers who went to eliminate this huge wolf.

To be honest, I don’t know how this soldiers died just like that. In the beginning of their hunt, they portray like a tough, great individuals and can make a huge turn of event on the story, especially having a well known cast of actors, but what happened was they were just sent to the jungle and fed to the wolf, they were like extras in the story.

So back to the city, well ofcourse the owner of the rampage project who spent billions of dollars thought they have lost it, but later they realize that their research is successful and the chemicals are carried by the monsters. So they tried to find a way to retrieve those chemicals from the monsters and their idea is to lure the monsters to the city using a sound beacon that will irritate their ears and force them to go to the city and destroy the beacon? This part I don’t get it? why do they have to bring those animals to the city that made lots of damage and destruction to the city which will cost money? maybe it’s hard to find those monsters one by one and to get them, and maybe they are planning to extract the blood out from those huge monsters to get the chemicals? it didn’t even serve that purpose in the end coz when those monsters arrived in the building where the tower bicon is located, they destroyed not just the beacon but the whole building, the purpose of bringing them in the city is useless, there is no way to stop them. Well, bringing those animals to the city served the main objective of the title rampage but not a valid reason if practical wise. As the story continues,there are lots of destroying of buildings, throwing cars, exploding trucks and military vehicles, come to think of it, how come those monsters doesn’t event felt pain from those military weapons?

Not minding the bullets from the guns, those bullets may feel to them only a pinch of a nidle or a bite of an ant, we can excuse that, but an amo from an abrams tank, or a missile from a bradley, it’s like catching a punch from mike tyson, it should have slow them a bit in a sense.

Back to the story, so the monsters reach the building where the beacon is located after doing havoc in the streets, 3 animals reach the top of the beacon and made the building to literally collapse down.

They manage to let George swallow the cure to the chemical that is causing insanity in a gruesome way, also the villain was killed during that time, watch the movie and you’ll know why. That cure made George recognize his friend Davis once again. so, they planed of defeating the two monsters which is the wolf and the crocodile.

Basically it’s impossible for both of them George and Davis to defeats this monsters because of their size,

but how they defeat them is so amazing, you’ll have to watch to know, how the turn of event happened, it’s clearly impossible for them to win the fight but because of pure luck and the power of will made them win. But that wining moment has a price. The friendship of both was tested to the limit until death. The wolf died because of the bite from the crocodile. It’s head was separated from it’s body, that was the time I felt, how could they win this? and when the croc’s attention turned to Geaorge, it was trying to catch George and bite him, I was so afraid there’s no way to win, that he get bitten and be cut into pieces. George in the end was stab in the chest when he was thrown away when he was struggling to fight the croc and was dying. Finally Davis was the main attention of the croc and that’s where the tension rises when the crock chases Davis and almost eat him. Finally out from a distant, when you think that hope was gone, a giant monkey suddenly leaping high above holding the steel dagger that got him on the chest, jump over the croc with the shining tip of the dagger, George struck the crocs eye, and finally, the croc died. The intensity finally subsided, heart pumping situation suddenly blend into sadness and George who was badly wounded, weaken and was trying to say goodbye to his friend, and he died.

What a very nice ending it was, that part was the best of all, I felt it deep, and was emotional, if not for the next scene that I wish it didn’t came, it blew everything away, really destroyed the nice part. I thought it was the ending when george died in front of Davies, but what the **!!! George started to wake up and made fun of Davis that he was just pretending that he was dead,

what a joke! I almost vomit, I was so annoyed! I was expecting like some old fashion story where the monkey died and they found a baby monkey and when he grew up became the same like the monkey who died. Why not let George die and somehow when Davies went to the jungle he found one baby gorilla with the same features like George and he let it grew and he found George once again in the life of the baby gorilla, maybe I left with a smile on my face, actually that is what I was expecting, it can be a little old school but better than pretending dead and suddenly wake up and act like nothing happen and it was a normal day in town, hahah, what a joke. Really I like the story, action, drama, the value of friendship was shown, it’s my kind of thing. There where parts when there’s no valid reason and it’s like an amateur idea but i didn’t mind that, only the ending. Well you have heard how I was expecting it to end, it was old school ending for me, maybe you got some more better way of ending it feel free comment guys.
