# The Good Doctor
I don't know if any of you have watched or reviewed the series "The good doctor"?
I have started watching this interesting series and if you are interested in the medical field and the underdog story this is just something you would love to watch.
The first episode was on 25th September 2017 and the last episode will be on 5th February 2018.
It stars the now older actor "Freddie Highmore" as Dr. Shaun Murphy, who also played in "August Rush" a beautiful movie about two lovers who were separated through classes and joined together by their son who shared their passion... MUSIC.
This series helps to identify one of the ways in which Autistic children think, Dr Shaun does not just have Autism but also savant syndrome which means he has superior skills in one area, even surpassing someone who does not have autism, in short he is a genius in that field.
Dr. Shaun has had a trying childhood but managed to focus himself through becoming a surgeon, he can recreate the human body and incident in his mind this helps him to know how to better assist. With his perfect recall and photographic memory he can navigate the human body better than most.
One of the reasons I was drawn to this series is because I have a family friend and their one child has autism. His autism is not severe but it is there in his reactions to situations, he also shows great aptitude in certain areas. He does not like it when people hold or touch him and when he gets angry he shows it very strongly.
I have tried to get through to him with calm talking and I think I do very well at times which is a wonderful feeling.
In this series you go through Dr, Shaun's experiences in life and you get to see how certain people manage to get through to him and help him become more and more independent as there is very few gifts greater than being independent.
You also get to see the medical aspects and how the body works, it really is quite interesting.
I am thoroughly enjoying this series and I recommend it to anyone who would like to understand differences in people's difficulties and the possibility of greatness within your limitations.
Interesting character from Freddie Highmore. Would love to know more about how he juggles autism wih the medical field. Meaning I have to start watching it.
Sorry about your family friend, it's not easy having a child going through this. Hope the family finds a way of healing or curing him.
