English Phrasal Verbs (194/365) - Come Around
The Faint by Pietro Longhi (1701-1785). The lady seems to be coming around.
To come around means
A) to regain consciousness (especially after a faint)
Example sentence:
- A soldier fell to the ground after standing for four hours. He came around in a minute.
B) to change one's point of view to accept something that one was reluctant to agree with at first
Example sentence:
- I came around to their point of view after they presented good arguments.
Or a dad to the daughter's boyfriend might say, "I dont want you to come around here no more" LOL
I hope I'm not going to have to say that a few years from now. lol
The time goes faster than you think, friend.
Well, "idiot" is already in the top five of names my daughter calls me. LOL
