Ways to do things you love

I've been working on my video channel for years. Since 2018, VPGTube is also available with an English version of relevant videos. It's all about travel, theme parks and attractions. But it's not easy and I'm always looking for new solutions.

A big problem, which I want to solve next, is the topic mobility

So far I organize my tours by train or the different bus connections in Europe. I have neither a driving licence nor a vehicle. Well, one thing leads to the other, of course. Even if the car in the end of course drives with gasoline, diesel, gas or electric current, 99% of the countries probably would not find it that funny, if I push a pile of metal through the area without the "driving license" called permission...

But the problem with public transport is the time it takes. If I want to do bigger tours, where I visit several amusement and theme parks in a row, I have to stick to timetables and often need additional days. These days cost time and money, but do not lead to a satisfying result. Because this time could already have been another fantastic experience in a fantasy world of a theme park. It could have been time for editing and creating video content, and above all, it could have been more content. Content that makes sure that I wouldn't have to stretch some videos anymore.
At the moment I have to think about how many videos I actually publish, so that in the end I don't end up empty for half a year because the material is running out.

But how to approach this? Get a driver's license and buy a car? Sure, sounds simple at first. But that takes not only time but also money. While I am blessed enough to have a permanent job in a company that also pays reasonable salaries and therefore my livelihood is not a problem, such an expenditure is difficult to cope with, especially in the short term. Because if I invest the saved free budget exactly for this purpose, then this is naturally missing in the trips themselves, or would make travelling impossible for a certain time. So somehow the foundation has to be laid, but at the same time there has to be a free budget for travelling and visiting amusement parks. Besides, a car itself is a permanent loss of money (well, sort of), at least financially. But this would not even be the real problem.

The advantages that lie there

With your own vehicle all this is of course much easier. I can react relatively spontaneously to events, trade fairs, opening dates and much more. Yes, even my daily commute to work would be massively shortened. I would gain time again to work on projects I love. Videos, tour planning, etc. pp.
Plus no more extra days on tour to cover longer parts of the journey. I just have limited vacation days. Weekend trips and day trips are only possible with my own vehicle.

The new way or: Jump forward with crowdfunding

This blog is primarily intended to get the decision to do so off my chest. Sometimes you just have to write about things without deeper meaning. But maybe it will help some of you, because if you are honest, many of us could be helped by crowdfunding campaigns. There's nothing embarrassing about that.
But it is very important to make the campaign honest. There is no point in making up stories. It's going to get blown because it has done so many times in the past.

But if you are honest, serious and don't mess with the donations, I think crowdfunding is a fantastic thing. I just wanted to get out with that, thanks.
