Major renovations at Fort Fun Adventureland
The Fort Fun Adventureland shows in a new photo album at the official Facebook presence some pictures of extensive renovation work at the main entrance and rafting of the park. It is not yet clear if this is a major change in the thematic design or just a refreshing of the existing concept. Nevertheless, it is nice to see that things are going on in Bestwig as well.

Winter opening weekends at Geiselwind in 2020
Last week, the Freizeitland Geiselwind announced a large indoor area, and following this up, there is the next surprise. The franconian family park will host the "Winter Wonderland" from this year on. This is a winter opening.
From November 2020 to March 2021, the Park will then be open on weekends and on selected weeks in December, January and February from 10:30 am to 6 pm in the glow of a winter theme.

Disneyland Paris extends the deadline for the third theme park
According to an article from "le parisien", Disneyland Resort Paris has again been able to extend the deadlines for the construction of a third theme park. Originally, the park was supposed to be open until 2026, otherwise the reserved space could have been sold and used for other companies. But now Disney has been able to extend the deadline by another 10 years. This means that the third park has to be built until 2036, which makes sense in view of the major expansions in the studios that will be implemented in the next few years. Because in this way it is possible to continue to work on improving the offer of the existing parks for the time being.

Knightmare goes to scrap
After years of speculation about whether the Schwarzkopf "Knightmare" rollercoaster, which had long been located at the Camelot Theme Park and had been closed for some time, could move to Southport Pleasureland, it is now confirmed that the ride is falling victim to the steel scissors. On Coaster Crazy's Facebook account, pictures of the demolition work were shown and also Shawn from the YouTube Channel "Themepark Worldwide" was on site and reported. With this, another classic leaves us...

Drayton Manor temporarily closed due to flooding
Drayton Manor reports that large parts of the park have suffered damage from flooding caused by the storms of recent weeks. The park in Great Britain will have to remain closed for the coming holidays due to clean-up and repair work.

Indiana Beach and Fantasy Island closed:
Sad news are reaching us from the United States. After almost 100 years of operation, the operator of Indiana Beach is closing the historical theme park. The Apex Parks Group has not found a new operator for both Indiana Beach and Fantasy Island. The parks could not be sold and will remain completely closed until further notice. It is sad news, especially since Indiana Beach has some very popular classics to offer, including unique curiosities like the "Lost Coaster of Superstition Mountain". The future of the rides is uncertain and it is also unlikely that single ride sales will be possible, especially for the wooden coasters. The rides are designed and built specifically for their locations and it’s almost impossible to bring them to a new park. So far, there is no information about how the parks will continue.

Misaki Park in Osaka, Japan will be closed aswell
Also from Japan, we get news that another historical amusement park is closing its gates. The park is 63 years old and the company currently responsible for its operation, Nankai Electric Railway, has now announced that the park will be closed after a goodbye ceremony that will last from February 29 to March 31, 2020.
