THE TURPIAL AND THE WOLVES
- A sunny spring morning a turpial fluttered merrily over the treetops in the middle of the forest. The bird came and went happily among the thick green foliage carrying leaves and small twigs to build its new nest.
While flying over the fronds bathed in the morning dew, the bird proudly extended its colorful black, yellow and white plumage, while trilling beautiful melodies that resonated with harmonious echoes in the silence of the jungle.
Suddenly, in full flight, the bird felt the strong impact of a stone in one of its wings. stunned by the pain, the turpial tried in vain to maintain stability in the air and then rushed to the ground, the weeds falling.
Collapsed on the fallen leaves, the turpial saw the end of his days come when he noticed a ferocious wolf advancing slowly towards him, licking his whiskers.
- Do not devour me --- I implore the scared turpial - and I will sing for you my most beautiful songs as many times as you want, while I'm healthy from my damaged wing.
The wolf, perhaps not very hungry, accepted the proposal and prepared to listen to the concert. Then, the wolf returned with the wolf, bringing with it some grains to feed the trembling and wounded bird. Of course, the turpial again trilled several melodies of his repertoire.
ON A NEW TIME, the wolf brought his female and her puppies, who also enjoyed the performances of such a unique soloist.
Already the turpial began to feel recovered to feel recovered when again the crazy visited accompanied by several copies of her flock: a new edition of the concert did not wait and the sweet note of the song again lulled the forest.
Surprisingly, while the wolves, as if lying on the grass, were listening ecstatically to the recital, one of them appeared, who moved agilely and as far as the bird; I throw an accurate claw and the gobble in a single bite.
The rest of the pack was dismayed and upset because the deaf wolf had ruined them so exquisite serenade.
