Scientology, Religion or Sect? One day watching television and listening to a television program that had its title, slaves of Scientology, which aroused great interest and curiosity in not knowing what it was, just imagined that it was related to science but deliberated vaguely since It was only a propaganda, so I decided to investigate on the subject, which here I leave my summary so that you also see it and know what I am talking about.

Where does the word Scientology come from?

It comes from the Latin word scio, which means 'to know or distinguish', and the Greek word logos, which means "the word or the external form by which inner thought is expressed and made known".

Where does it originate?

The origin of this word originates from the American author L. Ron Hubbard (1911-1986), which was initially developed as a program of ideas that I call Dianetica, Dianetics is one of the beliefs professed by the members of Scientology, which It is considered by the scientific community as a pseudoscience.

Therefore, Scientology is a system of religious practices and beliefs developed in 1954 by L. Ron Hubbard, where the same quote as Scientology means knowing about knowledge, or the science of knowledge.

It was made known as the Church of Scientology in 1952, when Hubbard lost the rights to his seminal publication Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health, for having been left bankrupt. In different parts of the world this church is classified as a dangerous cult, since they usually practice medical practices and teachings without having any license, in Germany and France it is classified as a "sect and dangerous group".

Its world headquarters is located at Golden Base, an unincorporated area of Riverside County, California. Hubbard explained the religious nature of Scientology, indicating its relation to the Dharma. The first Church of Scientology opened in 1954 in Los Angeles. Hubbard explained in one of his news bulletins that Scientology has as main objective

A civilization without dementia, without criminals and without war, where the capable can prosper and honest beings can have rights, and where man is free to rise to greater heights.

This religion in terms of its teaching, or doctrine is totally different to most religions, the beliefs of Scientology are being made known to their followers little by little, until they ascend level within the organization. Once the level called "Operating Thetan III" has been reached, the follower is given the documents written by L. Ron Hubbard. In them mention is made of galactic, extraterrestrial or ufo cultures, it is said that in this document they talk about "Xenu" a dictator of outer space, who brought to the earth, thousands of human who later murdered, Scientologists avoid talking about Xenu in public. Some former members, such as film director Paul Haggis, left the church after learning about these documents.

The Church of Scientology has been the subject of great controversy. Some authors classify it as other sectaries, as an esoteric movement, that is, a religious or para-religious movement of occult or Gnostic inspiration. Looking at it from the socio-cultural point of view, it was defined as an example of a quasi-religious therapeutic system. Some critics considered the Church of Scientology as a multi-faceted transnational corporation, a secular for-profit organization that has one of its many components in religion, and that also includes political aspirations, commercial enterprises, cultural productions, pseudo-medical practices and pseudo-psychiatric.

Symbol that represents Scientology.

Behind this religion or sect are hidden great secrets and scandals in which it is related, great known actors, among them Tom Cruise, who supposedly loses his marriage for this religion, since his ex-wife Nicole Kidman, had many problems for the differences of religions, apart from that his father is a psychiatrist and the church of Scientology is opposed to psychiatry, another well-known actor is John Travolta, it is said in the documentary 'Going Clear', that this religion performs a type of interview to the members of Scientology, called audits, a kind of confessions that are recorded in which they explain details of their personal life and that would have the objective of finding the origin of the traumas that affect a person. But in turn it is used to blackmail its members, in case they wish to leave this religion, and in this interview John Travolta is mentioned, for being afraid to withdraw and to reveal their secrets to the world.

There are few details of this religion, because to have access to them, they have to pay large sums of thousands of dollars.

In addition, according to the documentary, members of Sea Org -which has a children's section in which children start working at a very young age- are encouraged not to have children and in case of pregnancy, they are suggests that they abort.

These are the symbols that represent this religion.

I conclude this subject with my very personal opinion, I consider it a sect since it has an occult tendency, that keeps practices and books that are exclusive and hidden, and that the knowledge received is according to the size of your pocket, therefore if a The person who fails is severely punished and if the women are pregnant, they are forced to abort, and for me, this particular fact is based on all human principles, since no one has the right to decide for the life of the other.
